We will have robotics, music theory and creation, project-based learning and the opportunity for students to take individual piano or chess lessons during the school day once a week. Velocity programming will include a focus on STEM and hands-on learning.

We will be working on obtaining accreditation through WASC after the school is up and running.

Student computers will be used during customized individual instruction time that will be supported with AI. We believe it’s important that students have an opportunity to use new technologies where appropriate and to not completely block them from skills they will need after school.

We’re planning on providing an in-house therapist as well as a full-time classroom assistant at a minimum.

We will be working with community members to offer other areas of exploration either during or after the school day with art, music, and sports.

We aim to create a more consistent learning environment at Velocity, particularly for those students who struggle with major changes in routine like having over 2 months off in the summer. We plan on starting with a Launch Camp for a week June to get students acclimated to the new environment and launch with the new school year in August.

We don’t have access to a prep kitchen so students are expected to bring a lunch.

School will run from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM every day. Students can access the building at 8:00 each morning.

There is no uniform and students are permitted to dress how they please.

We do not, although we plan on using Citilink to aid in transporting students during field trips.

We’re kicking things off with a one week camp in July so students can begin to become comfortable in the new space and meet their future classmates before we officially start in August.
